GLASSES
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glasses :
Information that we are using is who invented the eye glasses and when. The inventor was 'Salvino D'Armate' in Italy between 1280 - 1300s, however there is dispute on who actually invented the eye glasses. We are using this information to help with the narrative script and give some knew information to the audiences if they didn't know that fact.
Also using information on when glasses became a fashion accessory, they became a fashion accessory in the 1960s. Between 1950 - 1960 brow line glasses were standard for men. This information is going to be used to inform the viewers on how glasses have turned from improving site to a fashion item and also to help with narrative script.

BLINDNESS
1.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blindness :
Looking at the information that is about percentage of the leading causes of blindness surveyed by the 'World Health Organization' in 2002. This has been selected to again help with narrative script and also tells the the audience what are main causes of blindness.
2.
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn19502-leading-cause-of-blindness-identified.html?DCMP=OTC-rss&nref=online-news :
Information from this source is a more recent fact on the leading cause of blindness, which is 'Age- related Macular Degeneration' (AMD) and that it affects 50% of the population of the world. This data was selected to give some facts in our documentary and to give more ideas for narrative script.
3.
http://www.rnib.org.uk/eyehealth/Pages/blindness_cause_poll_results.aspx
Information that is taken from this page is that smoking is the only proven cause of AMD which people can do to prevent. Also that approximately 25 to 30 million people suffer from AMD. This has been selected to help with narration.

GUIDE DOGS
1.
http://www.guidedogs.org.uk/ :
Well we have just looked at the website in general to see how the blind can get guide dogs to them and how pedestrians can help and raise money for the training of guide dogs. This is to help show how guide dogs are funded right now. This site has been selected to be used as pictures and screenshots in the documentary to show viewers where they can find help and information about guide dogs and the company etc.
2.
http://www.guidedogs.org.uk/aboutus/history/
This source has information about the history of guide dogs and we are going to use this to help us scripted our narration for our documentary.

ARCHIVE MATERIAL
1.
Spec savers Adverts :
To use in the documentary to make sense about what is being said about eye sight being improved by glasses and how spec savers makes their adverts more about how your glasses look rather than getting your eyes tested for their health reason. This will be classed as archive footage in the documentary.
2.
Spec savers Logo & other Optician Logo's :
The logos are what we are having as pictures to use for the documentary and maybe use superimposition on them to help make more sense of what is being said by the narrator. This will be archive material for the doc.
3.
Picture of Florence :
Using this image to show where 'Salvino D'Armate' lives because there are no pictures or paintings of him so this image is going to help make sense of when the narrator is talking about Salvino who is the inventor of the eye glasses. This is also going to be archive material as well.
4.
Title Text of Salvino D'Armate
Since there isn't any images of Salvino we are going to use graphic text mixed together with an image of where he lived which is Florence just to attract the viewer to who the inventor of the glasses was. This would just be for graphics to make the documentary look more interesting.
5.
Footage of Laser Eye Surgery Procedure
This is going to be a cutaway that we have speeded up to give to the viewers a small and graphic picture of what is taken place in the laser eye procedure. This is going to be used so we can have a cutaway while the narrator can talk and give some details about eye health etc.
6.
Picture of First Guide Dogs
This is a picture of guy called Frankland apart of the first four guide dogs units to be trained in Britain, Wallasey, Cheshire in October 1931 and this ia going to be used as a cutaway to make sense of what is being said about guides dogs.
