In the trailer the narrator tells you the title of the documentary so you now the name and it usually tells you the scheduling of the documentary so that the listeners can now what channel the documentary is on and what time and date its on. Adding to that the ident of the channel is always said at the end of the radio trailer.

Another convention is that audio snippets from the actual documentary are used to help give a sample of what to expect from the documentary. this could be answers from vox pops and snippets from interviews.

There is a narrator in th trailer who is asking questions to the listeners of the radio that aren't gonna get answer from the trailer. this leads the listener to want to watch the documentary to get the answers that are going to be addressed in the documentary.

There is always a music bed in a radio trailer, some nice music that makes the trailer a little less boring to listen to so that you do pay attention to the trailer.

Plus Radio Trailers are always played on the appropriate radio channels that are for a certain audience that they are targetting for the audience they want.
